Behind the Lens: My Journey to Building Amanda Miles Photography

Writer's picture: Amanda MilesAmanda Miles

As a photographer, I’m used to being behind the camera, quietly focusing on my clients and helping them feel confident and relaxed. I put my heart into capturing their stories and creating images they’ll treasure for years. So, when Canvas Rebel reached out to feature me in an article, the idea of turning the focus onto myself felt a bit... unusual. But this opportunity gave me the chance to reflect on my journey, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Five years ago, I started Amanda Miles Photography with nothing but a camera, a dream, and a passion for capturing life’s authentic moments. Little did I know that what began as a small business would grow into a thriving endeavor filled with incredible clients, meaningful stories, and countless memories. The process hasn’t always been easy—building a business requires dedication, persistence, and trust—but it has been deeply rewarding.

In the article, I talk about how I built my business from the ground up, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and the core values that guide me every day.

I’ve always believed that photography is about more than just beautiful pictures; it’s about connection, authenticity, and preserving the moments that make life special. My goal is to ensure every client feels seen, celebrated, and comfortable during their session because that’s when the magic happens.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me to capture their milestones, from families and seniors to couples and professionals. You are the reason Amanda Miles Photography exists and thrives. Your trust and support inspire me to keep growing and refining my craft every day.

If you’ve ever been curious about what happens behind the scenes or how Amanda Miles Photography came to be, I invite you to check out the article. It’s a glimpse into the story behind the lens—my story—and I hope it gives you a deeper appreciation for what we create together.

With gratitude,

Amanda Miles
